I’ve written more children’s books, Fairy Tales Of The Heart, than anyone alive—86 to date—making valuable use of my wisdom, creativity, radiant love and knowledge of ancient arts and sacred sciences. As Yoda might say about the quantity and quality of those 86 children’s stories, “In the Flow of the Force You Are.”
And it was in that Flow of The Force I one day, decades ago, found myself walking through a rose garden.
A simple stroll while waiting to go into the theater that changed the movie of my life.
While admiring the beauty and really enjoying the fragrances of all the different roses, I became very aware of the bees busily going from rose to rose.
One bee in particular caught my eyes.
I noticed one tiny granule of bee pollen attached to each hind leg.
Pollen like this. Look how colorful and bright this pollen is. Bee Pollen vibrates with life force, with energy.
It’s a miraculous, complete food for bees and people. It has everything people need to live and there’s even many substances in bee pollen that we’ve never been able to identify.
I also love the colors and taste. It’s not as sweet as honey but like honey, bee pollen can taste very different and come in a variety of colors depending on the flowers the bees have visited.
Just one tiny granule of Bee Pollen has a life force I can feel nourish my entire body as I let it melt on my tongue.
I started eating bee pollen when I discovered the amazing health benefits it has for most people, many years before that day I was walking in the rose garden.
What I didn’t know all those years I was enjoying several tablespoons of bee pollen nearly every day was that bees make this pollen by rolling thousands upon thousands of the male stems of flowers into one tiny granule on each hind leg.
Some bees seem to have a buzzing blissful time collecting pollen as you can see it sprinkled all over their body.
Watching this bee buzz from rose to rose, I instantly fell in love with bees. Realizing all the effort bees put into rolling just one little granule, I was in awe and thankfulness.
I later learned it takes a bee an entire day to create just two of these nutritious, delicious pollen granules.
From that day forward, I’ve said a blessing before eating every meal thanking the sun, earth, air, water, spirit, birds, bees, plants, trees, and people that helped create the food I’m about to enjoy.
Those people include the planters, pickers, packers, wrappers, shippers, stocking clerks, cashiers and all others in the line from Mother Earth’s soil to my plate.
A line from the Lion King says, “We are all connected in the Great Circle of Life.”
A connection I honor and experience throughout every day.

listened to by all that is.”
Perhaps it was the Universe, knowing my love and great respect of bees, that one day many, many years after walking in that rose garden, I received a phone call from Vrindaji, the illustrator of my children’s fairy tales, asking me to write a poem about bees for a film festival.
At that time, I had never written a Fairy Tale as a poem that rhymed and knew very little about bees, except I loved their pollen, honey and propolis.
Two weeks later, with some research provided by my mom, I had completed The Ballad Of The Bees, a beautifully illustrated Fairy Tale Of The Heart for children of all ages.
The beautiful illustration behind me is one of the many Vrindaji created for what one doctor from India said, “The Ballad Of The Bees is not just a poem but kind of great inspiration for all human beings.”
A professional beekeeper said, “’The Ballad Of The Bees’ helps kids build an appreciation, understanding and awareness for an extremely vital part of nature. It’s so great to find a book that is fun and accurate at the same time. Love the new book ‘The Ballad Of The Bees’.”
I know your children will love it too! As will you. Many parents have told me they learned things about bees they never knew before, just like I did while writing it.
For tens of millions of years, bees have been living in harmony with one another, with people, and with other animals (they do not attack unless provoked first).
They pollinate the plants that grow the fruits, nuts and vegetables people around the world love and eat every day. Mangoes, lemons, papayas, cashews, strawberries, broccoli, hot peppers, squashes and many, many more.
They create honey from the blossoms they visit . . . orange honey, avocado flavored, chestnut honey, eucalyptus, apple, blueberry, manuka, pumpkin, pine and many more.
I just love standing under blossoming trees where thousands of bees are happily humming and buzzing as they go about their daily rituals. I can feel my body hum and buzz in harmony as I listen and feel their divine sounds.
Sounds I enjoyed earlier today as it’s Springtime here in Southern Spain and the bees are very busy.
Do you know what this is? It’s propolis. It’s another miraculous substance bees make from all the plants they visit. They use it to purify and repair their hives.
People use propolis to harmonize various health imbalances and you’ll find it in many products from cosmetics to toothpaste.
I love sucking on it to keep my throat clear.
Years after writing “The Ballad Of The Bees”, another little bee buzzed into my creative consciousness with another idea—to create a song from “The Ballad Of The Bees”.
I had never written a song before and with some help from my editor Cookie, we created two happy, happy, happy Bee Bee Jubilee Songs that children of all ages love singing and dancing to.
